What is the system you are looking at building and what is your budget. Its far too slow to be usable even in the most forgiving of DX10 titles, and even with all the details turned way down. Its also a little buggythe Parallax Occlusion Map test in 3DMark Vantage crashes the system, and we saw little white dots all over the place when running Crysis in DX10 mode (at low settings).,2845,2327139,00.asp. When you include the necessary platform improvements (new CPU, more and faster RAM), you will have a significantly faster system. That being said, in most every newer game (last 5 years or so) the x4500 is very weak. I would highly recommend spending an extra 50 on a 4670 512Mb or similar dedicated GPU. If, for some reason, you can not afford a dedicated GPU, consider getting a different AMD 780G790GX based platform with a Phenom II. This will give you similar CPU performance to Intels Core 2 Quad lineup and much better gaming performance. I actually have a (Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500) for my latitude 6500 it does handle games quite ok.( with the options down low.sadly.) eg: it goes along on gta4 no problems (i as a standard with all games using this gpu turn everything down to minimum.) It runs NWN2 no probs.
